Iceland: Vik

Iceland’s Southernmost Point

This black sand beach is rated among the world’s ten best. It’s not for swimming, though.

A Notable Beach

Although Vík has only 291 inhabitants, it is strategically located just west of the great Vatnajökull outwash plain and is the staging point for the Westmann Islands just offshore.
