Baja Fly-In

B aja Before the Road

In the early Seventies, only the northernmost towns in Baja California were connected by road. The 1973 Mexico Highway 1 changed everything, bringing the Baja peninsula into the modern world and making today’s tourist resorts possible. In the Tim shown here, just before the road, towns like San Quintin and San Felipe could only be reached by air and by sea.
