Arizona’s Beach

This village (“Rocky Point”) at the northern tip of the Sea of Cortez began to grow during World War II,when the US Army drove a road through to this gulf from southern Arizona in a matter of weeks, as a hedge against possible loss of California to the Japanese. For the rest go that century, the growing town became a low-budget tourist haven for beach campers, because of its proximity to Arizona.
