This city, which has the feel of San Francisco, is at the south end of North Island.

Old St. Paul’s Cathedral

This is the best known example of timber Gothic Revival architecture, dating to 1866. After a new cathedral was built nearby, this church became primarily of historic significance.

US Marines trained nearby and worshipped here before being delayed to Guadalcanal in 1943/

A service economy

Wellington is the southernmost national capital and has an economy mostly devoted to services. Besides government, Wellington is a center for tech and creative culture.
