Alaska: At Sea

From Seattle to the Inside Passage

Sailaway! We begin our journey boarding Celebrity Solstice at the busy Port of Seattle. Luggage and supplies are being loaded aboard the ship.

Departure preparations

As we look down on port operations beside our 4000-passenger cruiser, we see that Seattle also hosts large number of small boats.

Leaving Seattle

The city falls behind us as Celebrity Solstice pulls away heading north.

Luxury below decks

As sunset brings on the North Pacific chill, passengers discover how a ship of this size can keep us entertained while at sea.

Behind the scenes

A look at crew operations on the Solstice, starting with the bridge. As on so many of today’s cruise ships, the bridge extends slightly beyond the full width of the deck, facilitating precision in-port operations like docking while eliminating the need for separate sponsons.

A Canadian port call

We pause at the Canadian port of Victoria, on Vancouver Island.
