This vMoravian illage is dominated by the palace of the Liechtenstein family.

Family succession

Although originally founded by the Sirolak family in 1222, the village passed to the Liechtensteins during the 13th Century.

Lednice Castle

The Liechtensteinms built this summer palace in the 18th Century. It is now a UNESCO Heritage Site

On the main highway

Lednice is near a critical route between Hungary and urban Bohemia. This strategic location, and its ownership by a single family for most of its history, has brought it stable prosperity for most of its history.
